We have a confirmed date and location for Sara Erling from National Assn. for Child Development coming to speak to our group. I am hoping this will be a cross disability event so please post this on groups you are a part of and invite anyone who you think may benefit!
If you are not familiar with NACD, please check out their website at www.nacd.org
Sara has spoken to our group a few times and I have known her since Jamie was 1-when we started working with NACD.
She will be here Sat. Sept. 8th from 3:00-5:00 at the Lynnwood Library meeting room.
Please r.s.v.p. to email@example.com. I would not want her to come all this way if no one is going to be attending.
Grab your cowboys and cowgirls and your lawn chairs and join us for some fun at the M Bar C Ranch on beautiful Whidbey Island. Lunch is provided-hot dogs, chips, fruit cup, and juice. Please bring your own if you have dietary restrictions. GF hotdog buns and cookies will be provided by us. 10:00-2:00 is "official time" but you can arrive at the ranch earlier if you happen to catch an earlier ferry. (recommended as the lines get crazy on Saturday-try for the 8:30 or 9:00 ferry and that way if you miss one or two boats you will still make it in time for the ranch activities) Activities include lunch, pony rides, hay ride, costume room, western town and more! This is a free activity. Families will need to pay for ferry ride. Sign up is open now! www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C084BACAF2AA3FC1-ranchapalooza2
Grab your beach towels, sand toys and picnic lunch and join us at Jetty Island. We have 25 spots reserved taking the 11:30 ferry and returning at 3:15-you can exchange for a different return time on the island if available. There is a small cost for parking. Make sure you bring something to drink! Shade is minimal on the island so plan accordingly. Please r.s.v.p. to Lori.
Young Athletes Festival
Special Olympics Young Athletes is a sport and play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities (ID), ages 2 to 7 years old. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Children of all abilities take part, and they all benefit. Children learn how to play with others and develop important skills for learning. Children also learn to share, take turns and follow directions.
During the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games, the Young Athletes Event will be held at Seattle Center July 2 and July 3 and at the University of Washington July 5.
All children registered before June 1 will receive a t-shirt and 2 tickets (1 child & 1 parent) to the Pacific Science Center and will also be entered into a raffle for a Strider 14x bike.
